Revision of Motor Industry qualification
National Certificate in Motor Industry (Sales and Service) with strands in Automotive Parts and Accessories, Automotive Service Reception, Service Station, and Vehicle Sales
The NZ Motor Industry Training Organisation (Incorporated) (MITO) has revised the qualification listed above.
Date new versions published November 2008
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2013.
Reason for the revision
Following advice from NZQA National Qualifications Service that standard 62 was being reviewed and was most likely to be deregistered; MITO decided to remove the standard from this qualification before the related training programmes are launched to industry as the qualification had only recently been registered. The opportunity was also taken to update the details of several Retail Institute standards which have been reviewed and reclassified.
Main changes resulting from the revision
Changes to structure and content
· standard 62 was removed from the core compulsory section
· standards 10458 and 10466 were reclassified from the Retail and Distribution Management domain to the Wholesale domain.
· Details of standard 11963 were updated to reflect changes made at review.
Transition
People currently working towards version 1 may either complete the requirements for that qualification or transfer their results to this qualification.
