Revision of Motor Industry qualification
National Certificate in Motor Industry (Entry Skills) (Level 2) with strands in Automotive Electrical and Mechanical, and Collision Repair [Ref: 1252]
The NZ Motor Industry Training Organisation (Incorporated) has revised the qualification listed above.
Date new versions published November 2008
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2009.
Reason for the revision
The qualification, which was registered in August 2006, was revised to correct errors identified in the exemption table within the transition arrangements. Some pairs of expiring standards had been listed indicating that both standards were required for the exemption; however the original intention had been that only one of the pair of the expiring standards was required.
Main changes resulting from the revision
Changes to structure and content
· Changes have been made to a number of the exemptions listed for people who have gained credit for expiring standards so that either of the pair of replaced standards may be used rather than both being required.
· Classifications of reviewed standards have been updated.
Transition
There are no transition implications arising from these changes.
This qualification contains standards that replace earlier standards. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards - see table below. Changed exemptions are listed in bold.
