Planned review date                                                                           December 2013

Summary of review and consultation process

The unit standards were due for review.  The Horse Trek Guiding Advisory Group comprised of representatives from the horse trekking industry, Equine e-Learning Limited, and the Equine Industry Training Organisation.  The aim was to determine and discuss whether existing unit standards were still fit for purpose and to identify any gaps within them.

Drafts of unit standards were circulated to the Horse Trek Guiding Advisory Group for feedback.  All feedback collected was considered and, where appropriate, incorporated into the unit standards.  Several drafts were developed in order to accommodate the needs of stakeholders.  The Horse Trek Guiding Advisory Group then endorsed these unit standards.
