The Agriculture Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualifications listed above.
Date new versions published October 2008
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2009 [Ref: 1138], 2010 [Ref: 1036], [Ref: 1214] and 2011 [Ref: 1224].
Reason for the revision
The qualifications were revised to update unit standards affected by the review of subfield Agriculture. Standards affected by other ITO reviews were also updated.
Main changes resulting from the revision
National Certificate in Apiculture (Level 2) [Ref: 1036]
Changes to structure and content
· Standard 18425 was replaced by standard 23540.
· Qualification credits have increased from 56 to 58.
This qualification contains standards that replace earlier standards. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards - see table below.

Changes to structure and content
· Standard 18196 was replaced by standard 24550.
· Standards 14489 and 14490 were replaced by standards 23541 and 23542 respectively.
· Qualification credits have increased from 60 to 62.
This qualification contains standards that replace earlier standards. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards - see table below.

· Standard 19057 was removed from the compulsory section and its replacement standards 24555 and 24557 moved into new Set A and Set B of Elective 1.
· Standard 18425 was replaced by standard 23540.
· Elective standard 19056, 19058, 19059, and 19060 were replaced by standards 24554, 24559, 24561 and 24563 respectively.
· Total qualification credits changed from 90-96 to 92-95.

· Standard 18425 in the compulsory section was replaced by standard 23540.
· Standard 19057 was removed from the compulsory section and its replacement standards 24555, 24556 and 24557 were moved into Elective 1.
· Standard 19058 was replaced by standards 24558 and 24559 in Elective 1.
· Standard 19059 was replaced by standards 24560 and 24561 in Elective 2.
· Standard 19060 was replaced by standards 24562 and 24563 in Elective 2.
· Credits for the compulsory section have decreased by 3.
· Total qualification credits increased from 72 or 73 to 76 credits.
This qualification contains standards that replace earlier standards. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards - see table below.

Transition
People currently working towards the replaced version of the qualifications may either complete the requirements of that version or transfer their results to the current version of the qualification. The replaced versions of these qualifications contain standards 14489, 14490 [Ref: 1214] and standard 18425 [Ref: 1036; 1138; 1224] which have expired. Candidates who do not already have credit for these expired standards must transfer to the new versions of these qualifications.
The last date for assessments to take place for the replaced version of the qualifications is December 2011.
The Agriculture Industry Training Organisation intends that no existing candidate is disadvantaged by this revision. Any person who feels disadvantaged by the transition should contact the ITO at the address below.
