The Retail Institute, formerly known as the Retail Industry Training Organisation (RITO), has revised the unit standards listed above. The unit standards have also been rolled over to maintain their currency until they are reviewed.

Reason for the revision and rollover
The revision was carried out to update legislation, make minor editorial amendments, correct inconsistencies, align the planned review date with that of the other unit standards in the Retail and Distribution Core Skills domain, and reflect the new name of the ITO.
Main changes resulting from the revision and rollover
· Inconsistencies between elements and purpose statements in unit standards 11939 and 11991 have been corrected.
· The definition of the term 'customer' has been updated on unit standard 11941 for consistency with other unit standards that contain this definition.
· All unit standards in the Retail and Distribution Core Skills domain now have a planned review date of December 2010.
· The name of the Retail ITO has been updated to Retail Institute as a result of its recent rebranding.
