Summary of review and consultation process

 

An Advisory Group of school and private training establishment providers met on 15 April 2008 to review the level 1 standards listed above.  Feedback was provided by the participants on issues arising from the assessment process and whether the standards were currently being used by providers.  The standards were amended to include the feedback provided and some standards that were not being used designated as expiring.  The amended standards were circulated for comment and endorsed by the Advisory Group.

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

·         Standards 15890 and 15898 were categorised as expiring as they were considered no longer fit for purpose.

·         References were updated.

·         Credits were increased to reflect the assessment requirements.

·         Changes were made to titles, elements, performance criteria and ranges to clarify requirements for assessment.

 

Unit standards categorised as category D expire at the end of December 2010.
