National Certificate in Community Recreation (Aquatics) (Level 4) [Ref: 0938]
National Certificate in Community Recreation (Programme and Event Management) (Level 4) [Ref: 0939]
Sport, Fitness and Recreation Industry Training Organisation (Sfrito) has completed the review of the qualifications listed above.
Date new versions published September 2008
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2013.
Summary of review and consultation process
At the request of the Community Recreation industry, Sfrito carried out a thorough and comprehensive review of these qualifications. This review began in July 2007 and was completed in May 2008.
Current and potential users of the qualifications (including industry representatives, industry workplaces, and providers) were asked to provide feedback. Whilst feedback was limited there were clear concerns expressed about the size and complexity of the qualifications and their relevance to industry. Changes were made to reflect industry's need for more accessible and relevant qualifications.
Main changes resulting from the review
The review has resulted in a number of standards in the qualifications being moved, removed, added, or replaced; and the credit totals of both qualifications decreasing.
