Summary of review and consultation process
This standard was identified by assessors, Ministry of Fisheries and the industry as needing to be reviewed as there were aspects that were missing from the standard. Given the importance of authorised validators and the impact incorrect documentation can have in terms of national and international market trading relationships, it was decided that the standard be reviewed before its planned review date.
In June 2008 an advisory group was set up to review the standard. A review meeting was held in July to ensure the standard met industry requirements, and to ensure it was clear, logical, fit for purpose and assessable. The re-drafted standard was presented to the advisory group for consultation and the final version was endorsed.
Main changes resulting from the review
· Title changed to better reflect the content of the amended standard,
· Elements, performance criteria and range statements were amended to meet industry requirements and to improve consistency,
· Purpose statement and special notes amended to outline the intended target audience for this standard,
· New pc 2.6 added as the dispatch of completed forms was not accounted for in the previous version.
