The Hospitality Standards Institute has revised the unit standard above.
Date new version published April 2009
Planned review date December 2013
Reason for the revision
This revision is to meet industry expectations for the standard and clarify the assessment environment requirements for assessors. Special note 4 in this standard is generic to all Level 2 standards under AMAP 112. It was added to all Hospitality subfield standards at Level 2, following publication of version 4 of the AMAP, in 2008. However, this standard relates specifically to commercial espresso equipment, which have features and capabilities not found in domestic coffee appliances. Therefore the standard has been revised to ensure these requirements are explicit.
Main changes resulting from the revision
The word 'equipment' has been replaced with 'commercial equipment' in the title, purpose statement, special note 4 and elements.
Impact on existing provider accreditations
None.
Impact on existing qualifications
The following HSI qualification is not materially affected by the changes. It will be updated when it is next reviewed.
