National Certificate in Aquaculture (Level 2) [Ref: 1063]

The Seafood Industry Training Organisation (SITO) has completed the review of the qualification listed above.

Date new version published                                                             April 2009

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2013.

Summary of review and consultation process

Over the course of the year, SITO, registered assessors and industry representatives met and provided feedback regarding this qualification.  The main issue related to the requirement that the current level and credit values of Aquaculture standards was used to determine whether a candidate had met the qualification requirements, regardless of the version of the standard held by the candidate.  This requirement was an obstacle to candidates completing the qualification and has been removed as per the feedback of the industry.  The details of reviewed standard 497 have also been updated and the credit totals changed to reflect this.
