Summary of review and consultation process

This review was carried out as the qualification had reached its scheduled review date.  Industry and training representatives met over a period of time to determine the required outcomes of the qualification.  Industry operational and application changes in the monumental masonry required a qualification that brought together the skills being used in the various work sectors and would be attainable in each of the work sectors.  Therefore a new qualification was developed which more accurately reflects the work areas and training requirements of the Masonry industry.

This replacement qualification has standards in common with the National Certificate in Stonemasonry [Ref: 0336] which is under review at the time of the registration of [Ref: 1482].
