The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2014
Summary of review and consultation process
A group of industry expert representatives met and gave advice on the review of the qualifications. Recommendations were made to remove certain standards as no longer being relevant to the industry. Changes were made to the qualifications to more closely align them with changes in industry practice and to distinguish between the different skills and knowledge sets required by operators and supervisors.
Main changes resulting from the review
The National Certificate in Casino Gaming (Inspection and Monitoring) [Ref: 0515] and the National Certificate in Casino Gaming (Inspection and Monitoring) [Ref: 0516] were designated expiring and will not be replaced, and the Casino Inspection and Monitoring strand was removed from National Diploma in Casino Gaming (Management) [Ref: 0671]. Inspection and Monitoring is no longer required by the Department of Internal Affairs and, therefore, no longer meet industry needs. The remaining qualifications were updated and amended inline with current casino practice.
