The NZ Extractive Industries Training Organisation has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary of review and consultation process
The review took place in response to feedback from assessors, moderators, providers, and industry advisory groups. Unit standards have been updated to bring them in line with current industry practice and legislation requirements. Consultation took the form of meetings, email, and telephone calls with the industry advisory group and wide circulation throughout the sector of the reviewed unit standards.
Main changes resulting from the review
· Unit standard 8908 was replaced by unit standard 25881, unit standard 25883, unit standard 25882, and unit standard 25884.
· Unit standard 27032 was replaced by unit standards 25876 and 25877.
· Unit standard 21157 was replaced by unit standards 25879 and 25878.
· The level of unit standard 8917 increased from 2 to 3.
· Special notes were updated.
· Elements and performance criteria were changed to reflect current industry practice.
The unit standards categorised as category C will expire at the end of December 2011.
