Summary of review and consultation process
This review was undertaken alongside the development of two new level 4 qualifications, one for Installation and the other for Quotations and Special Aluminium Joinery. The development is almost complete and as part of that process, Unit 558, Produce a quotation for aluminium joinery products using quotation software was reviewed to meet current industry needs. The development of the qualifications also revealed the need for a new unit standard to cover window scheduling and specifications. This has been developed and included in this review.
Main changes resulting from the review
· Special notes were updated in keeping with industry requirements to include applicable legislation changes.
· Elements and performance criteria were changed to meet industry requirements and to improve assessability and consistency.
· New unit standard 25858 has been developed to cover skills required by industry.
Impact on Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP)
AMAP 0013 has been updated to reflect the changes made to the standards.
