Summary of review and consultation process
Following the registration of version 1 in October 2007, this unit standard was subsequently included in a number of Careerforce qualifications at varying levels. The review process included changes to reflect the variety of contexts in which it would be offered in the future. Throughout the review process, which took place over a six-month period, there was extensive consultation with a number of mandated Pacific agencies and individuals including the Lu'i Ola workforce group and representation from the Ministry of Health.
Unit standard 23381 has been reviewed in response to feedback from internal and external stakeholders around a number of issues. These issues include barriers to assessment, ease of access to Pacific individuals and groups, and application of key references to the requirements of particular performance criteria. A new unit standard was developed to remove the barriers and address the issues with unit standard 23381.
Main changes resulting from the review
· Unit standard 23381 was designated expiring and replaced by new unit standard 25987.
The unit standard categorised as category C will expire at the end of December 2012.
