The Communications and Media Industry Training Organisation (CMITO) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary of review and consultation process
These unit standards were reviewed as they were passed their expiry date.
A group of representatives from a wide cross-section of the print industry who are responsible for undertaking the workplace assessments, and ensuring they meet the CMITO requirements, met late in 2008 to discuss aspects of the current training programmes for the print sector. The meeting provided the opportunity to inform assessors of changes within the CMITO and to provide an opportunity for feed back on current assessment methods and training programmes.
The Printing Production unit standards are used across a wide variety of CMITO's training programmes and qualifications, and the group was asked to consider:
· the currency of the unit standards and their suitability for the qualifications
· levels and credits and their relevance to performance outcomes
· any gaps in skills and/or knowledge that could be captured by the development of new unit standards.
Apart from unit standard 10919, which is no longer required and has been designated 'D' category expiring, the group felt that the existing unit standards generally reflected the requirements of industry and that there were no major changes required.
Main changes resulting from the review
· Titles of unit standards 340, 341, 2281, 10912, 10915, 10917, 10918, 10922, 17930, 17931, 17934, 18247, 20057, 20058, and 21942 were changed.
· Unit standard 10919 was designated 'D' category expiring and will not be replaced.
· Elements, performance criteria, and range statements were amended in most unit standards to improve assessability, and for consistency of style within the batch.
· Additional special notes were included to improve assessability.
· The credit value of unit standards 10918 and 10922 increased from 3 to 5.
· The SSB name was changed to Communications and Media Industry Training Organisation.
