Revision of Community Support Services qualification

 

National Certificate in Community Support Services (Disability Information Provision) (Level 4) [Ref: 1406]

 

The Community Support Services ITO Limited has revised the qualification above.

 

Date new version published                                                             August 2009

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2013.

 

Reason for the revision

 

This revision was carried out because standards 20032 and 23381 created barriers to achievement of this qualification.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

·           Standard 20032 was removed.

·           Standard 23381 was replaced by standard 25987.

·           The purpose statement was amended.

·           The credit total for the qualification decreased from 75 to 69.

 

Transition

 

This qualification contains a standard that replaced an earlier standard.  For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standard – see table below.

People currently working towards version 1 of this qualification may either complete the requirements for that version by 31 December 2011, or transfer their results to version 2.

 

It is anticipated that no existing trainees will be disadvantaged by these transition arrangements.  Any person who feels they have been disadvantaged by these transition arrangements should contact the Community Support Services Industry Training Organisation at the address below.
