The Agriculture Industry Training Organisation has completed the review of the qualification listed above.

Date new versions published                                                          August 2009

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2014.

Summary of review and consultation process

The above qualification required updating to meet current industry requirements.

Industry experts who represented artificial insemination technician employers, workplace assessors and the artificial insemination sector met in December 2008 to suggest changes to the current qualification.  Changes were suggested to focus on the knowledge and skills required by technicians, and to remove those standards no longer considered necessary to the roles.

From August 2008 to May 2009, consultation was held with key representatives including industry experts, training employers, training providers and the herd testing industry, and further changes were made based on feedback received.

The final versions were endorsed by the industry expert panel members and the Agriculture Industry Training Organisation Board.
