National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Electrical Fitter Hydro) (Level 5) [Ref: 0920]

Date new versions published August 2009
Summary of review and consultation process
A review was undertaken of the above qualifications to ascertain their continued relevance to industry. Consultation determined that the qualifications were surplus to requirements.
Potential candidates for the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Front Line Manager) (Level 4) [Ref: 0856] elect to take the more popular First Line Manager qualification because it is more generic and is recognised across a broad range of occupations. Consequently there has been no interest in the Front Line Manager qualification and it was determined that it should be expired.
The National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Electrical Fitter Hydro) (Level 5) [Ref: 0920] covered skills which were rarely required in the electricity supply industry, or had been superseded and were no longer in use. This lack of continued relevance to industry is further evidenced by the low number of enrolments on to this qualification. Therefore, it was agreed that there was no longer a demand for the Electrical Fitter Hydro qualification and it should be expired.
Main changes resulting from the review
· The National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Front Line Manager) (Level 4) [Ref: 0856] was designated expiring and will not be replaced.
· The National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Electrical Fitter Hydro) (Level 5) [Ref: 0920] was designated expiring and will not be replaced.
