Summary of review and consultation process

 

Following sector feedback received in 2008, InfraTrain New Zealand has carried out a high level review of Unit 23593, Manage tendering, and form and manage a contract, for an infrastructure asset.  The review included consultation with the National Asset Management Steering (NAMS) Group and Ingenium, an incorporated society that exists primarily to uphold and improve the status of engineering and management of public assets in New Zealand.

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

·         A new unit standard 26155 has been created from Elements 1, 3 and 4 of unit standard 23593.

·         A new unit standard 26156 has been created from Element 2 of unit standard 23593.

·         Amendments to legislation have been updated within the special notes.  The Property Law Act 2007 has replaced the Contracts Enforcement Act 1956 and Land Transport Management Amendment Act 2008 has replaced some sections of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989.

 

The category C unit standard will expire at the end of December 2012.
