AMAP for Forestry, Biosecurity, and wood related manufacturing and processing and AMAP for NZ Furniture Industry Training Organisation

Review of Forest Industries Training and Education Council (FITEC) AMAPs [Ref: 0173] and [Ref: 0006]

FITEC has completed the review of the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plans (AMAPs) above.

Date new versions published                                                          February 2009

The next AMAP review is planned to take place during 2014.

Summary of review and consultation process

In 2008, FITEC ran workshops for organisations accredited to assess against FITEC unit standards.  As a result of feedback from these workshops, FITEC has amended some of the wording to further clarify moderation requirements.

All unit standards currently covered by AMAP 0006 will be moved to AMAP 0173 as they are reviewed.  FITEC had always intended to merge the two AMAPs since the merge of Furniture Industry Training Organisation with FITEC in 2007.   The more generic requirements in AMAP 0173 will continue to cover the specific requirements of the furniture sector.  Active organisations accredited for unit standards covered by AMAP 0006 have attended FITEC workshops run in 2008 and are aware of FITEC moderation requirements.

Compliance with new requirements

Moderation system requirements will apply with effect from March 2009.

Accredited organisations will be audited for compliance with AMAP requirements from September 2009 onwards.

Main changes resulting from the review

AMAP for NZ Furniture Industry Training Organisation [Ref: 0006] has been designated expiring.  It will expire when all of the unit standards in the Furniture subfield have been reviewed and new versions of those standards moved to AMAP 0173.

AMAP for Forestry, Biosecurity, and wood related manufacturing and processing [Ref: 0173] version 3 replaced by version 4
