The Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation (ESITO) has revised the qualifications listed above.
Date new versions published January 2009
The next qualification reviews are planned to take place during 2009 [Ref: 1098], 2011 [Ref: 1293], and 2012 [Ref: 1375].
Reason for the revision
These qualifications were revised as a result of the registration of, and in order to include, new magnetism and electricity standards developed by ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation (ETITO). The revision of the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Electrical Services Technician) (Level 3) [Ref: 1098] also included replacing an expired standard (15863), which has increased the level of the qualification from 3 to 4.

Changes to structure and content
· Level of the qualification was increased from 3 to 4.
· Total credits were increased from 105 to 109.
· Expiring standard 15843 was replaced by standards 25070-25072.
· Expired standard 15863 was replaced by standard 20962.
Transition
All existing candidates may either complete the requirements of the version of the qualification on which they are enrolled or transfer their existing achievements to the latest version. The last date for assessments to take place for the preceding version of each qualification is 31 December 2011.
All new trainees will be enrolled in programmes leading to the latest versions of the qualifications.

For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards - see table below.
