Revision of Food and Related Products Processing qualifications

National Certificate in Food and Related Products Processing (Level 3) [Ref: 0343]

 

Competenz has revised the qualifications listed above.

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2014.

 

Reason for the revision

 

The qualifications were revised to expand the elective sets to include the Smallgoods domain and accommodate the range of food industries that are now signed into version 5 of the qualifications.  The revision also took into account the recent review of the NZQA - National Qualifications Services Interpersonal Communications standards which have been designated expiring.  The affected standards have been replaced or removed from the qualifications.

Changes to structure and content

·         The domain Smallgoods was added to the Elective.

·         Expiring standard 2977 was replaced by standard 25060 in the optional standards.

 

Transition

 

There are no transition consequences resulting from the revision.  Candidates enrolled in programmes leading to version 5 of this qualification may transfer to version 6 if they wish to select elective credits from the Smallgoods domain.

 

This qualification contains a standard that replaced an earlier standard.  For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standard - see table below.
