The Agriculture Industry Training Organisation has revised the unit standards listed above.

Reason for the revision

The revision was carried out to correct a mismatch between title and elements, and to expand a special note.  The elements of standard 18 referred to 'livestock', while the title and performance criteria referred to 'animals'.  Following assessment of standard 24630 it was found that special note 2 (which defines livestock as cattle or sheep) should be expanded to include deer and goats, as the skills can also be applied to them.

Main changes resulting from the revision

· Both elements of standard 18 have been changed to include 'animals' rather than 'livestock' to match the title and performance criteria of the standard.

· The definition of 'livestock' in standard 24630 has been amended to include deer and goats.  This standard can now be used to achieve credit in a wider range of qualifications.
