The NZ Extractive Industries Training Organisation has completed the review of the qualifications listed above.
Date new versions published June 2009
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2014.
Summary of review and consultation process
This review took place in response to feedback from stakeholders, to update the qualifications in view of recent standard reviews; and to make them fit for purpose.

Changes to structure and content
· total credits increased from 49 to 55
· standards 25130 and 25133 have been added to the compulsory section
· standards 25131 and 25134 have been added to the elective section
· standard 9707 has been removed from the compulsory section
· standard 6400 has been moved from the elective section to the compulsory section
· the credits for standard 21164 decreased from six to three
· elective 2 has been added.

Changes to structure and content
· total credits decreased from 144 to 103
· standards 5616, 5619, 7108, 16800, 21178, and 21179 have been removed from the compulsory section
· new standard 25132 has been added to the compulsory section
· the credit requirements for elective 1 decreased from 20 to 12
· standards 11547, 12336, 21181, 21185 and 21460 have been removed from the elective section
· standard 17497 has been replaced by standard 21335 in the elective section
· elective 2 has been added
· titles have been updated for standards 21175 and 21180.
This qualification contains standards that replace earlier standards. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards - see table below.

Transition
People currently working towards version 1 of these qualifications may either complete the requirements for that version or transfer their results to this version of the qualification.
The last date for assessment to take place for version 1 of these qualifications is 31 December 2011.
It is the intention of the EXITO that no existing candidate is disadvantaged by these arrangements. Any person who considers they have been disadvantaged is requested to contact the EXITO at the following address.
