Revision of Meat Processing qualification

 

National Certificate in Meat Processing (Level 4) with strands in Supervisory Management, and Risk Management [Ref: 0692]

 

The New Zealand Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualification listed above.

 

Date new versions published                                                          June 2009

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2014.

 

Reason for the revision

 

The qualification has been revised as a result of the review of the standards in the Business field.  This revision amended the qualification listings to show new classifications, titles, levels, and credits.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

National Certificate in Meat Processing (Level 4) with strands in Supervisory Management, and Risk Management [Ref: 0692]

 

Changes to structure and content

·      Standards 7447, 7454, and 7457 were removed from the Supervisory Management Strand.

·      Standard 8080 was removed from the Risk Management Strand.

·      Standards 7452, 9675, 9676 and 11994 were replaced with standards 21335, 21336, 23394, 23395 and 25463 in the Supervisory Management Strand.

·      Standard 25219 was added to the Supervisory Management Strand.

·      Classification, titles, levels, and credits of reviewed standards were updated.

 

Transition

 

This qualification contains standards that replace or are alternatives for earlier standards.  For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement or alternative standards - see table below.

People part way through version 5 of this qualification may choose to complete that version or transfer to version 6.  However, people choosing to complete the Supervisory Management strand are advised that the last date to gain credit for expired standards 9675 and 9676 was December 2008; and the last date to gain credit for expiring standard 11994 is December 2009.  The last date for assessments to take place for version 5 is December 2011.
