Summary of review and consultation process
A submission from a provider indicated that although the content was still current the terminology in the unit standards needed to be updated. Organisations with accreditation for these unit standards were consulted on the currency and fitness for purpose of the standards
It was suggested that preparing a research proposal fitted better in unit standard 9188, Demonstrate knowledge of approaches to research in education. Changes were made to the unit standards and distributed for comment and there was no objection to the change.
Main changes resulting from the review
· Element 1 from unit standard 9186 has been moved to a new element 5 in unit standard 9188.
· Credit value for unit standard 9186 has been decreased from 24 to 20 credits.
· Credit value for unit standard 9188 has been increased from 15 to 20 credits.
· Credit value for unit standard 9189 has been decreased from 10 to 8 credits.
· Terminology has been updated.
