Reason for the revision

Feedback from industry and from assessors indicated that compliance with legislation specified in the special notes was causing difficulties in learning and assessment because some retail environments did not offer layby or credit contracts to customers. The special note on legislation has been re-stated to add flexibility to suit different workplace learning environments.

No provider should be adversely affected by this change.

Main changes resulting from the revision

· The special notes on legislation have been amended to allow further flexibility of assessment.

· A minor change has been made to the range statement under performance criterion 1.3 in unit standard 12003. The term 'obsolescence' has been replaced with 'obsolete stock'.

· The planned review date of December 2010 remains unchanged.
