Summary of review and consultation process

These unit standards were reviewed as part of a review of the Print Industry Management (formerly Printing Administration) unit standards, which was undertaken in 2008.

These unit standards were considered by representatives from the printing and paperboard packaging industry.

Consideration was given to the following:

·           The currency of the unit standards and their suitability for existing and any proposed qualifications.

·           The accuracy and appropriateness of the content.

·           Whether the level and credits correspond to performance outcomes.

·           Any gaps in skills and/or knowledge that could be captured by the development of new unit standards.

It was agreed that the two unit standards continued to meet industry requirements and that only minor changes were necessary.

Main changes resulting from the review

·         An additional Special Note was included in both unit standards for clarification purposes.

·         The range statement under element 1 in standards 16771 and 16772 was removed to clarify assessment.

·         Minor changes were made to elements and performance criteria in unit standards 16771 and 16772 for improved clarification of delivery and assessment.
