The NZ Extractive Industries Training Organisation has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary of review and consultation process

 

This review took place in response to industry opinion that the unit standards were no longer fit for purpose.  Consultation took the form of meetings and email correspondence which included members from all sectors of the gas industry.  The gas sector advisory group endorsed these new and reviewed unit standards.

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

·         Titles have been amended to bring them into line with current industry terminology.

·         Legislation, codes of practice, standards, and guidelines have been updated.

·         The level has increased in unit standard 20850 from 2 to 3.

·         Unit standard 20930 has been replaced by unit standards 25518 and 25519.

·         Technical terminology has been updated in the elements and performance criteria.

·         New unit standards 24712-24714, 24716-24718, 24722 and 24723 have been developed.

 

The unit standard categorised as category C will expire at the end of December 2010.
