Revision of Electrical Engineering qualification

 

National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Level 5) [Ref: 0951]

 

The ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation (ETITO) has revised the qualification listed above.

 

Date new version published                                                             May 2009

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place later this year following the review of the compulsory standards.

 

Reason for the revision

 

The qualification was issued following a revision to take account of subfield and domain reclassifications in Field Business.

 

Changes to content and structure

·      The First Line Management, Management - Developing and Coordinating People, and Small Business Management domains were replaced by Business Culture and Environment, People Development and Coordination, Systems and Resources Management, Financial Skills, and Interpersonal Communications in the elective section - see exemptions below.

·      The expiring Electricity Utilisation domain was also removed from the elective section - see exemption below.

·      Credit value of standard 4098 increased from 5 to 6.

 

All new trainees will be enrolled in programmes leading to version 4 of the qualification.

 

All existing trainees may either complete the requirements of the previous versions or transfer to version 4.  The last date for assessments to take place for versions 1, 2 and 3 is 31 December 2012.
