Revision of Equine qualification
National Certificate in Equine (Grade 1 Coaching) (Level 4) [Ref: 0656]
The NZ Equine Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualification listed above.
Date new version published May 2009
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2010.
Reason for the revision
The qualification was revised to replace an expired standard in the compulsory section.
Main changes resulting from the revision
National Certificate in Equine (Grade 1 Coaching) (Level 4) [Ref: 0656]
Changes to structure and content
· expired standard 5361 was replaced by standards 22768 and 22771
· total credit requirements increased from 137 to 146
· the planned review date was extended from 2008 to 2010.
Transition
People currently working towards version 4 of this qualification may either complete the requirements of that version or transfer their results to version 5 of the qualification. The last date for assessments to take place for version 4 is December 2010.
The start date for training programmes for version 5 of the qualification, and the last date for entry to training programmes for version 4, are the same as the registration date for version 5 of this qualification (May 2009).
This qualification contains standards that replace standards in earlier versions. For the purposes of this qualification people who have gained credit for the replaced standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standard.

It is anticipated that no existing candidates are disadvantaged by these transition arrangements. However, candidates may appeal in the first instance to the NZ Equine Industry Training Organisation, which will consider any appeal on a case by case basis.
