Revision of Fibreboard Packaging qualification

 

National Certificate in Fibreboard Packaging (Level 2) [Ref: 1166]

 

PrintNZ Training has revised the qualification listed above.

 

Date new versions published                                                          May 2009

 

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2011.

 

Reason for the revision

 

This qualification was revised and amended to take account of a new Paper Bag and Sack Converting domain that has been developed for this sector of the fibreboard packaging industry, and for which new unit standards have been registered.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

National Certificate in Fibreboard Packaging (Level 2) [Ref: 1166]

 

Changes to structure and content

·      Unit 25738, Demonstrate industry knowledge of paper bag and sack converting from the new domain was included in Elective 1.

·      Standard 20058 was removed from the compulsory section.

·      Credit total decreased from 50 to 45.

 

Transition

 

People currently enrolled in the programmes leading to the award of version 1 or 2 may either complete the requirements of version 2 of the qualification or transfer to version 3.  The last date for assessments to take place for version 2 of this qualification is December 2012.

 

All new trainees will be enrolled in programmes leading to version 3 of the qualification.

 

It is anticipated that no existing candidates are disadvantaged by these transition arrangements.  Any person who feels disadvantaged by these provisions is invited to contact PrintNZ Training at the address below.
