Republication of Agriculture qualification

The Agriculture Industry Training Organisation has republished the qualification listed above to update the transition arrangements in the version published in April 2006.
Date new versions published November 2009
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2011.
Reason for the republication
The Agriculture Industry Training Organisation had intended to complete the review of all standards and qualifications in the Agriculture subfield over 2007 and 2008. However, this process has taken longer than anticipated and the review of the Level 4 and 5 unit standards was not completed until August this year. The review of this qualification is still underway and further consultation is still required. As the qualification contains a number of standards that have been replaced during the review process, the ITO decided to republish it with reverse transition. This will allow candidates with credits for replacement standards to use them to meet the requirements of the qualification.
This is an interim measure to increase the achievability of the qualification until it is reviewed, and ensure providers and candidates have access to the most up to date knowledge and skills required by the agriculture industry.
Main changes resulting from the republication
This qualification has been republished to provide exemptions for expiring standards (reverse transition).

Transition
People currently working towards the previous version of this qualification may either complete the requirements of that version or transfer their results to the current version of the qualification. This qualification contains standards that have been replaced by later standards. Reverse transition has been included in this qualification, and people can complete the qualification using either expiring standards or replacement standards.
The last date for assessments to take place for expiring standards is December 2011. For the purpose of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the replacement standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the expiring standards - see table below.
