Reason for the revision
The qualifications were revised following the review of standard 23381 and to update the requirements for award for the National Certificate in Community Support Services (Residential) (Level 3) [Ref: 1391].

· Standard 23381 has been replaced by standard 25987.
· The National Certificate in Community Support Services (Core Competencies) (Level 3) [Ref: 1327] is now a requirement for award in line with other Level 3 Community Support Services qualifications Refs: 1396 and 1397.
Transition
These qualifications contain a standard that replaced an earlier standard. For the purposes of these qualifications, people who have gained credit for the expiring standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standard - see table below.

People working towards previous versions of any of the qualifications can either complete those versions or transfer their results to the latest version. The last date for entry to training programmes or courses for previous versions of the qualifications is December 2010. The last date for assessment for all previous versions of the qualifications is December 2012 apart from version 1 of the National Certificate in Community Support Services (Core Competencies) (Level 3) [Ref: 1327] for which the last date for assessment is December 2010.
It is anticipated that no existing trainees will be disadvantaged by these transition arrangements. Any person who feels they have been disadvantaged by these transition arrangements should contact the Community Support Services ITO Limited at the address below.
