Revision of Concrete Core Skills qualification
National Certificate in Concrete Core Skills (Level 2) [Ref: 1452]
The Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualification listed above.
Date new version published November 2009
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2014.
Reason for the revision
Changes resulting from a review of standards in the Core Generic subfield by NZQA affected standards within the National Certificate in Concrete Core Skills (Level 2) [Ref: 1452] requiring the qualification to be updated to reflect these changes.
In addition, industry representatives from the concrete sectors indicated that the requirement for people to gain this qualification as a prerequisite to enter trade level qualifications from the Concrete subfield at Level 3 or above would be a disadvantage to people who have been working in the industry for some time.
Main changes resulting from the revision
· The wording of the purpose statement and special note was amended.
· The title and credit value of two standards were updated to reflect changes made at review.
