Learning State has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published November 2009
Summary
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) has advised that all the unit standards in the Incursion Response domains are no longer fit for purpose; there is an internal organisation competency framework that is being utilised to meet their needs.
MAF and Biosecurity New Zealand have formally requested the Incursion Response unit standards be designated expired as they could be confusing to the public as to what the competency standard for the industry is.
Therefore Learning State has designated the Incursion Response unit standards as expired for the following reasons:
· There are no learners enrolled in programmes leading to assessment against the unit standards.
· There has been no usage of the standards since their registration.
· The standards are agency-specific.
· The unit standards do not link or pathway to any qualifications.
· The agency (MAF) has expressly requested that the standards are expired.
Main changes
· All unit standards in the Incursion Response domains are no longer required by industry and have been designated expired. They will not be replaced and will expire with immediate effect.
· There will be no further enrolments of learners into programmes leading to assessment against the Incursion Response standards.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of November 2009
The following domains have been designated expiring and will expire when all the standards classified within them expire.
· Incursion Response - Core
· Incursion Response - Movement Control
· Incursion Response - Organism Management
· Incursion Response - Surveillance
Impact on existing provider accreditations
None.
Impact on Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP)
With the designation of the Incursion Response standards listed above as expired, AMAP 0121 has been reviewed to reflect the expiration of these unit standards. The unit standards and all Biosecurity specific information have been removed from AMAP 0121.
Impact on registered qualifications
None.
