The ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation (ETITO) has completed the review of the qualification and unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published November 2009
Summary
The National Diploma in Ambulance (Paramedic) (Level 6) [Ref: 0207] and its component unit standards were overdue for review. Consultation was carried out with the industry including members of Ambulance New Zealand, accredited providers, and national external moderators which indicated that the qualification and unit standards above were no longer required. The sector is discussing national consistency regarding practice levels and alignment with degree study for practice levels above Basic Life Support. As a result, the sector decided that the above qualification and unit standards were no longer required; this was endorsed by Ambulance New Zealand and the industry. Accredited providers were notified of the expiry of the standards and qualification.
