Summary of review and consultation process
These finfish unit standards were due for review in 2009 so an advisory group was set up to undertake the review. The group met in July 2009 to ensure the unit standards still met the requirements of the finfish sector, and to ensure they were clear, logical and fit for purpose. These unit standards were presented to the finfish sector for consultation and review and the final versions were endorsed. With minor amendments, they continue to meet industry requirements and demand.
Main changes resulting from the review
· Elements 1 and 2 of unit standard 20465 have been swapped for readability, and a new performance criterion (pc) 1.1 added to better link the theory requirements with the practical requirements in element 2.
· New pc 1.3 added to unit standard 18486 to better link the theory requirements with the practical requirements in element 2.
· Amendments were made to pcs and range statements of unit standards 18483, 18490, 19851, and 21948 to ensure outcomes were covered.
