Reason for the change to expiry dates
Unit standards 5070, 18224, and 20489 were reviewed as part of the review of the National Certificate in Tourism and Travel (Core Skills) (Level 3) [Ref: 0876]. They were designated Category C in January 2008, and were due to expire in December 2009. However, during the review of the National Certificate in Tourism Conventions and Incentives [Ref: 0723] it was discovered that this expiry date would make that qualification unachievable after December 2009. As a result, the final date for assessments to take place for standards 5070, 18224, and 20489 has been extended to 31 December 2011.
As unit standards 18231 and 18233 are prerequisites for unit standards 5070 and 18224, respectively, the final date for assessments to take place for these prerequisite unit standards has also been extended to 31 December 2011.

The expiry date of unit standards 5070, 18224, and 20489 has been changed from 31 December 2009 to 31 December 2011, and the expiry date of unit standards 18231 and 18233 has been changed from 31 December 2010 to 31 December 2011.
