Summary of review and consultation process

 

These unit standards were reviewed as part of their regular review cycle.  An Industry Advisory Group comprised of industry sector and qualification experts was convened and they met between May and July 2009 to discuss, amend and endorse these unit standards.  Changes were suggested and finally endorsed by the industry advisory group.

 

The industry advisory group in particular debated, and increased, credits and levels for unit standards 15209, 15210, and 15212.  The complexities of the competencies described in these unit standards were such that it was thought that a higher number of credits (and overall time for learning and assessment) and a higher level would better reflect the realities of achieving them in the workplace.

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

·           Wording has changed to align the content of some performance criteria more closely to the actual requirements of Injection Stretch-Blow Moulding.

·           The level and credit value of unit standard 15209 has increased from 3 to 4 and from 8 to 12 respectively.

·           The level and credit value of unit standard 15210 has increased from 3 to 4 and from 12 to 16 respectively.

·           The level and credit value of unit standard 15212 has increased from 3 to 4 and from 8 to 16 respectively.
