Wood Manufacturing Foundation Skills

19794, 22970-22974, 22977

The Forest Industries Training and Education Council (FITEC) has revised the unit standards listed above.

Date new versions published                                                          September 2009

Planned review date                                                                           December 2011

Reason for the revision

FITEC has been working with providers to develop comprehensive training and assessment materials for delivery of Wood Manufacturing Foundation Skills unit standards at levels 2 and 3.

As a result of this process, and through feedback from assessors, it became evident that some of the wording of performance criteria needed clarification in order to ensure consistent interpretation by users.

Main changes resulting from the revision

Many performance criteria have been reworded to ensure clarity of the required standard.  A reference text has been included in the Special Notes and performance criteria in some instances.  Minor amendments have been made to elements in unit standards 22970 and 22971, and the titles of unit standards 19794, 22970, and 22971 have been amended.
