Responsibility for the unit standards referred to above has been transferred from the Aviation, Tourism and Travel Training Organisation (ATTTO) to the Hospitality Standards Institute (HSI).

Date new versions published                                                          April 2010

Planned review date                                                                           December 2011

Rationale for the change

This change of responsibility was initiated by HSI.  HSI believed that, because flight catering at an airport was not carried out by staff who were aligned to industries covered by ATTTO but rather by food services industries who were aligned to the HSI, the standards fit better within the HSI's gazetted coverage.

ATTTO agreed and consequently the HSI transferred the unit standards listed above to the Food Services domain.  ATTTO have also agreed that, as the domain of Flight Catering now contained no current versions of registered standards, it would be expired (lapsed).

The unit standards will be reviewed in 2011.

Outline of main changes

Unit standards

·                The unit standards were revised and rolled over, amended to show the new ITO responsibility, reclassified, and published as new versions.

·                The domain of Flight Catering was designated expired (lapsed).

Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP)

The standards were transferred from AMAP Ref: 0133 to AMAP Ref: 0112, and Ref: 0133 has been designated expiring and removed from the National Qualifications Framework.
