Summary of review and consultation process

The unit standards listed above were reviewed as part of the Māori Qualifications Services review cycle, to ensure that the standards are still fit for purpose and applicable to current issues.

Contact was made with all the education organisations accredited to assess against these unit standards but for various reasons which included - no longer required, did not fit into programmes, no interest from students - there was little usage of these unit standards since the last review.

Members from the Governance of Māori Authorities Whakaruruhau met in August 2008 and March 2009 to review the standards.

Comments and recommendations from all parties present were incorporated throughout the review process.

The final versions of the standards were sent out for endorsement and further changes were made on the basis of feedback.
