Summary
The review of this unit standard was due in 2010. An advisory group of providers, workplace assessors, and industry experts was formed, and the review was undertaken in February 2010. Although the standard has not been used it has been retained because it provides recognition of the skills and knowledge needed for growing oysters in workplaces that have not switched to the single-seed spat method and Seafood ITO now has assessors with the skills required to assess against the standard. Only minor changes were made to the unit standard to align it with wording used in the most recently registered Aquaculture unit standards. The advisory group endorsed the final copy as fit for purpose.

· Evidence required for performance criterion 1.1 has been clarified
· Reference to 'in-house requirements' has been replaced with 'company requirements' in performance criteria 1.2-1.4.
