The Aviation, Tourism and Travel Training Organisation has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published December 2010
Planned review date December 2015
Summary
The ATTTO has carried out this review of the Aeronautical Maintenance Certification unit standards as part of the scheduled review cycle. Input sources to the review included the normal 'comments' process as described on the end of every unit standard/qualification, an Industry Advisory Group was formed with members from the NZ CAA, training providers, registered assessors, and a range of employers from large and medium/small enterprises. Input was also provided by ATTTO qualifications specialists.
Main changes
The main changes are:
· reallocation of content between unit standards to reflect changes in the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority (NZ CAA) examination syllabuses (unit standard 20894 split into two new unit standards to reflect NZ CAA syllabus changes and duplication between unit standard 20894 and 20902 rationalised)
· minor amendment to content based on changes to the NZ CAA syllabuses
· development of four new unit standards to enable the Diploma in Aeronautical Maintenance Certification to better meet the needs of industry
· changes to credit values to better reflect learner workload.
The category C unit standard will expire at the end of December 2012
