Summary of review and consultation process
Members of the carpet industry requested that the SSB develop new standards relating to the tufting process. Although a standard for tufting was already registered on the framework it was too large and was not broad enough in its scope. It was decided to replace the existing standard with smaller standards which assessed the range of skills required.
Main changes resulting from the review
· Unit standard 7194 was designated expiring and is replaced with unit standards 26026-26030.
Unit standard categorised as category C expire at the end of December 2011.
