Learning State has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Date new versions published                                                          February 2010

Planned review date                                                                           December 2014

Summary

The unit standards were due for review and changes were needed to remove barriers to completion for people intending to complete the National Certificate in Public Sector Compliance Management (Road Transport) (Level 4) [Ref: 1170].

Learning State worked with the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) to draft these changes.  Consultation was then carried out, in conjunction with NZTA, with a group of designated internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to review, adjust, and endorse the changes.

Main changes

·      Titles, purpose statements, special notes, elements , performance criteria, and range statements were updated to reflect changes in legislation, to ensure currency with practice and terminology, to improve accuracy and clarity, and to replace reference to the Land Transport Safety Authority (LTSA) with reference to the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA);

·      title of unit standard 20339 was updated to remove reference to a specific agency (ie NZTA in lieu of LTSA) to accommodate the possibility of outsourcing external audit activities for NZTA in the future;

·      element 1 of unit standard 20335 was split into two elements;

·      element 2 of unit standard 20340 was removed and the credit value reduced accordingly;

·      unit standard 20341 was designated expiring due to lack of anticipated usage and changed (NZTA) organisational environment.

Category D unit standard 20341 will expire at the end of December 2012.
