Revision and rollover of Logistics unit standards 21809 and 21810

Tranzqual ITO has completed the revision of the unit standards listed above.

Summary

 

The unit standards were revised to remove the prerequisite (transporting dangerous goods by road), which was not applicable to the outcome of the standards (transporting dangerous goods by sea and air) and was an unnecessary barrier to trainee completion.  The special notes were updated.

 

This revision is as a result from feedback received from users of the standards.

 

Main changes

 

·         Prerequisite: Unit 16718, Demonstrate knowledge of law and practice for the transport of Dangerous Goods by road, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills was removed.

·         Legislation in the special notes was updated.

·         Planned review date was extended to December 2010.  The ITO plans to review the Freight Forwarding domain in 2010.

·         Land Transport New Zealand was changed to NZ Transport Agency.
