InfraTrain New Zealand has completed the review of the qualification listed above.
Date new version published January 2010
The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2011.
Summary of review and consultation process
Following sector feedback received in 2008, InfraTrain New Zealand has carried out a high level review of the National Diploma in Infrastructure Asset Management (Level 6) [Ref: 0761] to remove a significant barrier to candidate completions. This resulted in the splitting the knowledge and skills covered by Unit 23593, Manage tendering, and form and manage a contract, for an infrastructure asset into two new standards 26155 and 26156.
The review included consultation with the National Asset Management Steering (NAMS) Group and Ingenium, an incorporated society that exists primarily to uphold and improve the status of engineering and management of public assets in New Zealand.
Main changes resulting from the review
Unit 25155, Form and manage a contract for an infrastructure asset is included in the compulsory section while Unit 25156, Manage tendering for an infrastructure asset is included in the elective section.
Credit values of the compulsory and elective sections have been adjusted to ensure the overall credits for the qualification remain the same.
